From reading and watching about these topics for the past few weeks i've learned that the government really isn't telling us certain things about where we get our food. It isn't until we see the close picture we realize the harm it does like the meat industry especially. how so may chemicals and pesticides are being put into our food while we're unaware and so many animals are suffering for it. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but i believe our food should be well taken care of, this reminds me of the book The Jungle, so many horrible death killing events were happening but no one cared to realize it until it was proven or read in the book. I don't want to have to see the big picture the hard the hard way if i know it'll kill me, or even worse guilt me badly since now i buy cage free eggs because of a recent video i saw about what happens to baby chicks in an egg factory in Iowa. After they we're questioned about it, they made it seem like it was no big deal! If your killing 200 million newborn chicks a year, IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!!!!! They even had the nerve to post on their website "We are committed to the humane and respectful treatment of each and every bird in our care" I know animals are put on earth for human use and people say "oh their just animals, they have no feeling, they're put on earth for our food". That may be slightly true but animals do have feelings! But do we have to kill and treat them so badly? It's inhumane and it should be put to a stop. I know we as consumers may have to sacrafice a little bit more money like the cage free eggs i buy now are $2 more then the original ones my parents still buy because they don't want to pay the extra money.
To change this we should all sign a petition and or boycott these industries until they take care of these animals right, it's wrong and the impact will change not only the way we think but what we. It kind of reminds me of this song by Lily Allen "When you look with your eyes, everything seem nice, but it if you look twice you can can see it's all lies". We have to change the way the factories act, it's wrong and if we don't sooner or later we're just encouraging it and it it'll get even worse. We also have to fight for the mistreatment of the workers too , because they're being treated wrong also. Everyone at one point dislikes their job, but if your treated badly wouldn't you want someone to fight for you? We have to fight for others who can't fight for themselves, because it isn't fair.
